Also, to everyone who commented on my six last week, thank you, thank you, thank you! I am (very slowly) working through all of your posts and promise to visit back. (pinky promise) ;)
Now, let's get to SSS - this is another snippet from my work in progress, SILVER LININGS. My previous posts from this WIP are here, where Parker has just walked into Billie's gift shop. They haven't seen one another for a decade. Annabelle is Billie's great aunt, who also works at the store.

Here are my six, which follow from last week's. Annabelle is speaking first.
"Tasty enough to be on a fire fighters' calendar."
"I think he'd have to be a fireman," Billie whispered, ignoring the urge to sprint to the back room.
"Still, I know I'd buy one just for his picture." Annabelle winked. "Guess we should go over and say hi, rather than gawking like a couple of teenage girls."
"I want to finish this while we've got the ladder out," Billie said as she waved toward the empty display shelf - at this moment, any excuse was a good excuse.

LOL -- great fun. I love how Annabelle thinks! And congrats on making it through such an eventful week. Whew--I'm exhausted just reading what you had to do!
Hahaha!! Loving Annabelle! I laugh too because my hubby is a fireman (no calendar page though) ;)
Glad to hear you made it through such a hectic week Lorraine!
I'm giggling over here as well. I love Annabelle! And I love the sense of camaraderie, as they gawk. lol Great fun!
Annabelle's fabulous! Wish I had a great-aunt like her. And I've got a great image of Parker now too - on a fire-fighter's calendar indeed. Purr.
That last line made me snort. Ain't it true, ain't it true! ;) Great six, Lorraine and I hope your week calms down a bit.
I love Annabelle! Great job on this 6! Good luck with the house sale!
reading about your week exhausted me. And your character, she protests too much...
I really enjoy the Great Aunt, I have to say.Sorry you had such an exhausting week, hope things calm down for you!
Wow, that is a crazy busy week, glad you made it through in one piece. I really like the organic feel you've created with this week's six.
Ugh, I hate overly busy weeks. We've all been there, so no worries.
And I love these two ladies. They're too late if they think they've avoided looking like teens. Silly and smitten is hard to hide.
Surprised you had time to do anything last week. Two generations is a safe distance for Annabelle, but for Billie it's immediate.
What fun! Love great aunts! Mine's hysterical too...
Love the conversation! I know what you mean about being busy. Sometimes, life is non-stop!
Great six, Lorraine. I loved her nervousness and her lusty friend. :)
I think both ladies are a little smitten, LOL. Great girl talk and gawking. This was fun!
I love your characters -- all of them! My WIP also features an older woman, but the younger woman in mine is her granddaughter. The interaction between them is fun. I'm sure you're enjoying writing these characters too. Great scene!
What a fun Six to cap a busy week! Thanks for the smile. :D
Sorry I'm late making some of the rounds from yesterday. Father's Day took a chunk of my time. Parker sounds dreamy! I like the great-aunt thrown in the mix for added flavor and bringing out these other two characters! She's a hoot.
Pretty sure I said this last week, but I just know I'm going to love Aunt Annabelle!
Ah, prevarication - but I guess she'll go over eventually. :-P
