Six Sentence Sunday - Silver Linings #4

First, a quick update: Yay!  My condo is finally listed on the local mls site - and we've survived the first of two open houses this weekend.  And, Saturday we visited a dozen potential new homes.  It feels good.  :)  I can almost see the light at the end of this crazy tunnel.

To everyone who commented on my six last week, thank you, thank you, thank you!  I love that you love Annabelle as much as I do.  Also - I plan to post a Lucky 7 from this WIP this coming week - so stay tuned!  Thank you for tagging me, Mae Clair, Kate Warren and Lea Griffith!

Now, let's get to SSS - this is another snippet from my work in progress, SILVER LININGS. My previous posts from this WIP are here, where Parker has just walked into Billie's life again after being away for a decade.

Here are my six, which are taken from a later scene.  This is the first one where Parker and Billie are alone.  Parker is speaking first.

“Would you like it if I said yes?”
While his question lingered between them, Parker let his gaze wander over Billie’s body. The soft cotton of her T-shirt was stretched tightly over her breasts, and the thin material revealed the faint pattern of her lacy bra - just as he’d first imagined it would.
In spite of his bold appraisal, Billie didn’t retreat.  When her hands dug into the soft flesh of her curvy hips, Parker smiled.  Whether she realized it or not, he knew she was itching to cross her arms, but predictably she didn’t want to give him the satisfaction of knowing he was having an effect on her.

I really like the subtext of emotions you've created in this six. Despite the fact that it's a description of her physical reactions, the reader knows exactly what's going through the mind of both characters.

He seems to know her well. Nice six! :)

This is great! I love how he knows what she's thinking. Great description too. This sounds like a delicious story!

And congrats on all the moving-related stuff. That is hard work!

Very nice. Love how you show us she really wants to cross her arms.

Isn't it great when two people reconnect after a long absence and it's like they were never apart?

Very very well done. I love the sense that we're in his shoes. Great job!

Smart boy and really well written

Nicely done, Lorraine! Yep, she didn't want to take a defensive posture--because then he'd know he'd gotten to her. :-)

Now, I wonder what her question was?

Great tension in this interaction. You've shown both of their characters really well.

I love the tension in the scene and Billie sounds like a gal who can hold her on, regardless.

He's lucky she only planted her hands on her hips. Lots of tension here--emotional and sexual. Well done.

Sensual but with tension, very well done. Leaves me wanting to read more. Good look with the selling of the condo BTW!

I'm dying to know what the earlier question was. Nicely created tension in this snippet.

I love this flirty, sexy scene, especially since he knows what she's thinking! Now I'm going back to read your earlier posts.

Oh, he's a cocky one! Luckily, she's just the spunky one to take him on. You've revealed a lot about both of their personalities here and how they spark off of each other. Great six!!

Thanks, Jess! I wasn't sure if I'd taken it too far, so that's good to hear. :)
