All That Glitters #10: Six Sentence Sunday

Six Sentence Sunday: Okay, I'm doing another "seasonal" post. I'll go back to Mattie and Alex soon... after all, we haven't found out what she does about that pesky wet dress of hers. ;)

Like last week, this excerpt is from my work in progress All That Glitters.

*****

Set Up: Last week, Annie was preparing for Christmas (with a house full of Christmas trees.)  This week, Annie is at a New Year's Eve party.  It is almost midnight.

My Six:
“We need to get the champagne!” Cathy gulped her cocktail and dashed toward the kitchen. “Crap, where’s my lipstick?”
Lipstick? Annie’s chest tightened. How could she have forgotten about that tradition?

And now Annie is wondering where she can hide... I'm like Annie - not overly excited about kissing strangers at midnight... but maybe there is another story in there, somewhere. ;)

*****

Thank you for stopping by on your busy Sunday to check out my six! I hope you enjoyed them. And, a special thanks to everyone who comments! I love hearing everyone's thoughts.

I am delighted to read your comments every week and promise to visit back.

Hmm, kissing strangers at the turn of the New Year is not really my area either. Great six and Happy New Year! 25 hours to go for me.

Poor Annie! I hope the stranger she kisses is a good one! :)

I agree with Annie, though I'm sure she'll have a change of heart (pun intended) later on.

I rarely make it to midnight these days, and I'm not the only one---the kids wake up the adults who have fallen asleep mid-movie in the living room, we all make kissy faces at east other and stumble to bed.

No lipstick required! :)

Wonder who Annie is hiding from?
I don't usually have any company on New Year's Eve, so at least it means I don't have to kiss anyone and everyone!

So who is she going to kiss? Great six!

I'm guessing her New Year *will* start off right, with some sexy someone! Fun excerpt!

Kissing strangers at New Year's isn't my thing either - mostly a one-night-stand thing to me. Who is Annie hiding from? Fun six!

Can't wait to see who her midnight kiss will be. :) Lovely six.

Fraid I'm not much into the champagne and lipstick stuff either.

Now I'm wondering who she's going to end up getting that lipstick all over! Great six!

Yeah, I have a feeling that come midnight, there'll be more than strangers looking for smooches!

Sounds like a lot of fun and maybe more is coming her way.

I can understand being uncomfortable with that tradition. I love that she let it slip from her mind. I would have obsessed over it all night. Love the set up!
