Awakening a Witch #10 - Six Sentence Sunday

*****

Six Sentence Sunday: Over the last few weeks, I've been highlighting some excerpts from my historical paranormal romance work-in-progress, Awakening A Witch. Click here to read earlier posts.

*****

Set Up: This excerpt follows soon after last week's. Alex rescued her from the storm, and now Alex and Mattie are alone in a little cottage. Mattie is incredibly cold, and her gown is soaked.  Last week he suggested she remove her gown.

My Six (This is in Mattie's POV):
Alex scanned the simple one room cottage, and she could almost see what he was thinking - there was no wardrobe to raid, the small bed had been stripped of linens, the windows were covered with wooden shutters, and the small scarred table was bare.  In short, there was nothing to wrap around her and no privacy to be had.
"Give me your cloak," she said.
"Fine, but you are smart enough to know that alone will not help," Alex said as he shed his garment and passed it to her. Her fingers sank into the luxurious softness of the deep fur lining, still warm from his body heat, as she pulled it around her shoulders.
He was right, of course, his cloak would not be enough - but it didn't matter how much her teeth chattered, she was not going to strip.

Is it wrong that I want her to strip? For his sake?? Great 6, Lorraine.

Great six. I'd love to keep reading. :)

Not going to help keep her covered and slightly warmer, or not going to help her cast a spell over him?

Either way, he's not earning any points with her. :)

I think that she needs to strip. It seems like the right choice.

I think she's going to have to give in on this one. LOL Maybe they could BOTH enjoy that cloak. :)

We all agree. Share the cloak; let body heat do the rest. Nifty six, my friend.

I feel her worry, it's got to be chipping away at him. Oh, I want to see these two sharing the body heat. I mean, she needs it, right? Ah, I don't want her getting sick ;) I'm loving these 6s.

Well too bad she doesn't know she's a witch or she could remedy the situation to her satisfaction As it is might be to his satisfaction...

Oh, she should let him warm her up. It's the best way! ;) Great six!

Not going to strip? Aww, what a let-down. She probably should let him warm her up before she freezes to death. Fun six!

Great excerpt! Though I'm still worrying about her!

Get the cloak around you and strip under its cover.

Modesty isn't worth freezing to death. Something tells me she's going to out of that cloak sooner rather than later.

She's going to have to get over that pride if she wants to survive. Great six, Lorraine. :)

They should be sharing body heat. It's the sensible thing to do.
