Awakening A Witch #13 - Six Sentence Sunday

As I mentioned last week, I've decided to finish the Six Sentence Sunday blog hop with Awakening a Witch. For earlier excerpts from this historical paranormal romance work-in-progress, click here.

Set Up: This excerpt is a little further into the scene, but follows my last post chronologically.  They hear a noise outside the cottage, and at first Mattie thinks it is just a wild animal.

My Six:
Mattie leaned closer, squinting through the small gap in the shutters. Something was moving through the trees, and it was too large to be a squirrel or a fox.
The strange figure emerged from the dark woods and - oh, it was a woman... and she was naked, like a sculpture in an art museum but without the fig leaves. Her skin glowed like moonlight. The blustering gusts, which were beating at the rest of the forest, were tamed around her, caressing her long unbound hair, until her tresses lifted from her bare shoulders and undulated through the air like snakes.
Mattie put her hand over her mouth to smother a gasp, but Alex must have heard because he immediately secured the shutters, eliminating the crack through which she'd been peering. Then he yanked Mattie away from the window and motioned for her to remain quiet.

Hmmm . . . is the appearance of the lady bad for him and good for her? Or bad for both?

Sounds like she's bad news. I'm glad he pulled Mattie back and closed the shutters. Fantastic descriptions!

I've been fascinated by this WIP since I read your first SSS snippet, but now you've really captured my imagination. I want to know more about the naked woman. Who is she? What does she mean to the story. Intriguing and frustrating six. Nice job!

Love it! Just love it! Is this book published, Lorraine? I have to read it. I so identify with your characters' goofy thought trains i.e. "... and she was naked, like a sculpture in an art museum but without the fig leaves."
lol. Wonderful six, Lorraine!

I get the impression that Alex knows something Mattie doesn't. The naked woman gave me gooseflesh. Nicely done, Lorraine.

Really wish I could keep reading:)

I wouldn't have thought this ethereal, nude woman would have been a danger (perhaps wrongly), but to see him snatch her away from the window and shutter it back, is very foreboding. And totally intriguing.

No, no, no! Lol, I want more. Okay, I'll be patient, kind of. Keep writing, Lorraine. I'll supply all the coffee and cookies you need. :)

Intriguing - definitely want to know more about the naked woman and why Alex closes the shutters.

I wonder if the woman could be the kind of a witch he fears Mattie is. And I tried to comment last week, but the captcha defeated me.

I've missed so many sixes, but I always enjoy your writing. Loe the moody, ominous element of this, great mix with the 'ghostly' woman!

Awesome scene with great descriptions. Gave me goosebumps and I wondered, oh oh, did the witch/woman see Mattie at the window?
