Happy Father's Day - Devin's Second Chance #2
Happy Father's Day!
Thank you for stopping by! I'm excited to share a few more sentences from my contemporary romance, Devin's Second Chance!
About this excerpt: In honor of Father's Day, I wanted to include something with Claire's dad, so these eight sentences are from much later in the book than last week's excerpt. This snippet is from when Devin meets Claire's parents. Claire's mom speaks first.
"Is this man the reason you are staying here?"
If only the storm brewing overhead could break now.
Devin winked at her. Good God, what was he thinking? "Mr. and Mrs. Best," he said, "it has been a pleasure." He nodded to them, but instead of getting in his truck, he went to the house. Her parents stared at Devin.
"Is he a real cowboy?" her father asked.
[A Short Disclaimer: I've had to modify the sentences a little to fit within the eight sentence limit.]
Thank you to everyone who stopped by my blog last week! I love reading everyone's comments on my post and enjoyed checking out everyone else's snippets too!
I've posted links to this blog post on the Weekend Writing Warriors site and the Sunday Snippet Facebook Page. If you aren't familiar with those blog hops, I encourage you to check them out to find some great authors and writing.
My Virtual Release Party for Devin's Second Chance is taking place Monday June 17th on Facebook! I'd love it if you stopped by! (I have the virtual champagne chilling. ;) )
Oh - and sign up for my newsletter! The first edition will be sent via email right away! And, there is a special something in there for subscribers. (Just so you know.)
Meeting someone's parents for the first time can be a bit awkward, but I think Devin handles this very well, don't you?
